These terms apply to anyone registering on Techcall as a freelance sound, lighting or video engineer, or listing equipment for hire ("Freelancer", "you").
You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Techcall or of any venue you're booked by through the platform. Techcall does not direct how you carry out your work. You're responsible for your own tax and National Insurance position — if you're unsure how IR35 or self-employment rules apply to your situation, get advice from an accountant.
When a venue confirms a booking with you through Techcall, you agree to complete the work as described in the booking, at the day rate shown. Standard payout is released 2–5 business days after the venue marks the job complete, at no cost to you. You can optionally choose instant payout for a small fee, charged by our payment processor, not by Techcall.
Techcall does not charge freelancers commission on crew bookings.
If you list equipment for hire, you're responsible for its condition, safety, and any PAT testing or certification it legally requires. Techcall takes a commission on kit hire bookings, shown at the point of listing.
Venues can rate you after a completed booking, and you can rate venues in return — including on payment speed and working conditions. Ratings should be honest and based on the actual booking; misleading or abusive ratings can be removed.
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, do so as early as possible and notify the venue directly through the platform. Repeated late cancellations may affect your ability to list future availability.
Keep your login details secure. Don't share your account with someone else. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
We may update these terms as the platform develops. Material changes will be flagged to you at login.
